Microblading now available

Recently Qualified with Laura Kay London, top Microblading school, I`m delighted to announce that I am now offering this fantastic new treatment.

    What is microblading?

Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing, or semi permanent make up. It enhances natural eyebrows by adding fine hair like strokes to your existing brow, using an extremely fine blade to deposit pigment into the dermis, that you can hardly distinguish from a normal hair.

Everyone's skin is different, it can last from 6 months to up to 10 years. It depends how well your skin holds the pigment.

The treatment is suitable for anyone over the age of 18, with very few exceptions that we can go through during consultation.

    Preparing for a treatment

The process involves 2 appointments, approximately 4 weeks apart.

For a few weeks after the treatment, your eyebrows will be going through a healing process, so it will be a work in progress that you will have to bear with! Its best not to plan it immediately prior to a large event where you want to look your best.

We will need to do a patch test to check that you are not allergic to the products.

You should allow up to 2 hours for your first appointment. We will be running through medical history, discussing colours and eyebrow shape. Have a think about what kind of look you are going for.

After the treatment, you must try to keep the area dry for 7 days, so it might be an idea to wash your hair immediately before.

I will be taking photos of your brows to keep a record of before and after treatment.

It can be uncomfortable. You might want to take ibuprofen or paracetamol before.

If you have recently had botox or fillers, let me know. We will need to discuss.

    After microblading treatment

Your fresh new brows will look fabulous, but they will be darker than they will end up. Whilst its tempting to touch them while you admire them, you must try not to! I will have made tiny cuts in the skin, so the area will be a little red and swollen. Keep the area clean and dry to avoid infection.

You will need to avoid swimming, saunas, excessive sweating and try not to get them wet. Dry healing is best for them to get optimal results, but I will give you a balm that you can apply sparingly to help relieve tightness, or as a barrier.

The healing process is a bit of a journey. The days immediately after they will look very dark, then they will start to feel very tight, form scabs and flake off in patches.

THIS IS VERY NORMAL! Do not pick it! At this point they will look patchy, but over the next 4 weeks the colour will intensify. You will then come back for me to look at the initial healed results and tweak and rebalance if needed.

Everyone's skin holds pigment differently, so we cant tell until this point how they will look. This is why we do the treatment in stages.
